| Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions (What Everyone Wants to Know):
When is the Parade?
The Parade is always held on a Saturday. If St. Patrick's Day does not fall
on a Saturday, the Parade is held the Saturday before St. Pat's Day. The
Parade always steps off at Noon.
Where can I view the Parade?
The Parade route begins on the corner of Tejon Street and E. St. Vrain and
continues south on Tejon Street to Vermijo. Anywhere along the route is
a great place to be on the Saturday before St.Patrick's Day, but stay behind
the line! If you are looking for a special place to sit, check out the Grand Stand seating.
Where can I park? Best place to park is in any one of the City Parking Garages or other downtown parking lots. Street Meters will be working! If you park in residential areas, please be respectful of driveways and landscaping! Illegal parking can result in tickets, fines or having your car towed!
How long does the Parade last?
The Parade typically lasts about 1-1/2 hours.
How do I dress for the Parade and what's the weather like on St. Patty's
Day?
We'd like to see EVERYONE dressed in GREEN (or orange or white - colors
of the Irish flag)! Paint a shamrock on your cheek! Add some green glitter
to your hair! Have fun! But seriously, the weather in Colorado Springs can
change quickly! Last year we enjoyed 70+ degrees and sunshine! We'll probably
not be as fortunate this year, so dress for Colorado weather! We suggest
you layer your garments.
What about food and drinks?
Food and drink are sold at numerous locations along the parade route. Booths
will serve soft drinks, hot dogs, burgers, tamales, etc. along with beverages.
In addition, there are many restaurants in downtown Colorado Springs. Alcohol
is not allowed anywhere outside along the parade route.
How do I get tickets to the Grand Stand?
Call (719) 635-8803. Tickets are $50/couple and include snacks & beverages,
an Irish flag to wave, a Parade Program to check out the Parade entries,
and Irish "baubles." Additional family member tickets are available
for only $5 for children under 18; if your kids are over 18 and want to
hang out with you, its $25 per additional ticket! Tickets are required for
entry prior to the Parade. We won't be able to sell you a ticket the day
of the Parade, so get them early!
Who can I call about being in the parade?
Please contact the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee
of Colorado Springs at (719) 635-8803 for information regarding parade participation
as a parade entrant, or vendor. Or visit the Participate
page on our website for an application! Deadline for entries is February
20th, so contact us TODAY!
What if I want to be a Parade Sponsor?
Please contact John O'Donnell at 719-635-8803 or jdodonnell(at)qwestoffice.net.
We'll gladly take your call and personalize a Sponsor Package for you! You
can also visit the "Sponsor" page of
our website for our brochure.
What if it rains or snows?
Parade cancellation? Never! Snow, rain or arctic cold, the parade goes on
no matter what!
Sláinte!
