We are proud to have as our co-Grand Marshals, Lt. Governor José
Garcia and his wife, Dr. Claire Garcia, professor of English at Colorado
College.
The Garcias bring a passion for the community and education. They have
spent many years in the Pikes Peak region, serving on a variety of boards
to make Colorado Springs a vibrant, colorful and culturally diverse home
for all of us.
Lt Governor Garcia was the past president of Pikes Peak Community College
and now works with Governor Hickenlooper with the challenges that face our
state.
Dr. Garcia is currently the President of the Board of the Rocky Mountain
Women's Film Festival and serves on the board of the Colorado Women's Hall
of Fame.
The Garcias have four children who went through District 11 schools.
